Luganda Proverbs – English Translation (English Meaning )
These are the Luganda Proverbs and their English meaning
1. Ffe bamu! : bw’akwata aka munne, ng’assa mu nsawo – We belong together : (says the fellow) when he takes the property of his friend and puts it into his own pocket
2. Ffenna tuli byuma : twasisinkana mu ssasa – We all are tools (of the same master) : we were all once made in the same smithy
3. Funa bangi : n’okuleekaana gy’akomya – Get many (children, subjects, tenants) : and the noise (trouble) will grow ac-cordingly
4. Funa eby’okuwola : nga n’ebintu eby’okuwoza mu mbuga olina (= nga n’eby’o-kuwoza) – ( Okuwola n’okwazika: ; Ekitta omukwano: ) Give things on loan : and you also plead in court
5. Gabwatuka : ne gawera omuwumbo – Let the matooke make a noise (in chewing, on account of being underdone) : if there is only a good amount of it (quantity more esteemed than quality)
